FACULTY - INTERIOR DESIGN - Search #08-21
The University of New Haven has an opening for a non-tenure-track Fulltime
Lecturer in Interior Design beginning August 27, 2008. The successful
candidate will teach lower and upper level interior design studios utilizing
a working knowledge of CAD (AutoCAD) in upper level studio courses and
strong hand drafting, sketching and rendering skills in lower level studios.
Specialization and/or an ability to teach in related areas such as textiles,
interior products and specifications, professional practices for interior
design, interior systems, materials and codes, architectural drawing,
sketching and rendering, construction documents and art are desirable.
Candidates must be committed to teaching and mentoring students by engaging
students in experiential education opportunities. Candidates must have a
minimum of a Master's degree (M.F.A., M.I.D., M.A., or M.S.) with at least
one degree in interior design. Preference will be given to candidates who in
addition to academic training and professional practice in interior design,
has 3-5 years of teaching experience in undergraduate interior design
courses. NCIDQ Certification is required or must be achieved within two
years. LEED certification is desirable.
