Allied Members

Allied Members receive the resources of a professional society as they develop their interior design career. Eligible individuals are practicing interior designers who have completed 40 semester or 60 quarter credit hours in interior design education from an accredited institution (university, college or technical school). Continuing education coursework/hours do not count toward meeting the education requirement for membership.

Former Professional or Allied Members (Reinstatement Form)

If your membership has lapsed within the last five years you may be eligible to reinstate your membership. Send in the completed reinstatement form along with the appropriate reinstatement fee. You then pay membership dues for the first 12 months of membership. If your membership lapsed more than five years ago you must reapply under the current membership criteria. Questions contact the Customer Service Department at (202) 675-4456.

Specifically for interior design students enrolled in an interior design or architecture program that requires at least 40 credit hours or 60 quarter credit hours of interior design coursework to graduate. Students at schools where an ASID student chapter exists may join as a student chapter member; students at other schools may join as an independent student member.

Student Advancement

ASID hopes your student membership has helped you forge a personal network of professional contacts that will help you advance your career. It’s time to build on that solid foundation of support, values and resources and advance to allied membership.

Industry Partners

Members include interior design industry manufacturers and their representatives, related trade associations and market centers. Industry Partners provide opportunities for interaction between interior designers and the interior furnishings industry that supplies services and manufactured products.
